While The Dream Ride Experience began as a weekend event, it has become a year-round movement - #DreamRide365 - that focuses on spreading inclusion, acceptance, and making dreams come true all around the world. The Dream Ride Experience was founded in the United States by The Hometown Foundation, Inc. and is proud to have found its international partner in Australia!

After partnering with Australia’s The Romeo Foundation, Dream Ride Australia came into existence. In both the United States and Australia, The Dream Ride Experience has evolved into a continuous community commitment celebrating the achievements of our Dream Riders. Dream Ride Australia honors our Dream Riders - who are men, women, and children living with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our communities - and highlights their determination and willingness to persevere, overcome challenges, and shatter stereotypes.

Dream Ride Australia is a day-long event that welcomes hundreds of attendees who are given the opportunity to enjoy the day with a car show that highlights hundreds of cars, food truck, carnival rides, games, and so much more! The highlight of the entire event is the Dream Cruise where Dream Riders are given the opportunity to take a ride in a unique or exotic car as Dream Riders and Drivers embark on a car rally through downtown Adelaide in South Australia. After the Dream Cruise, as drivers arrive back to the venue, Dream Riders are welcomed one at a time and enjoy a celebrity entrance as they walk the red carpet!

After all of our Dream Riders and drivers have arrived back to the venue, the day comes to a close with the awards ceremony that highlights the businesses and guests who have donated their time to make Dream Ride Australia possible. To conclude the ceremonies, each one of our Dream Riders is proudly announced on stage where they receive a medal to celebrate their determination and willingness to succeed.

Dream Ride Australia is also proud to pilot our International Ambassador Program that allows 10 U.S. Dream Riders the opportunity to travel to Australia for the Dream Ride Experience down under. The Ambassador program not only allows Dream Riders the opportunity to have an international experience, but they are also have the opportunity for a new cultural understanding, expanding their leadership skills, engaging in interpersonal communication exercises, and building international relationships.

Dream Ride Australia advocates for inclusion and building friendships amongst not only the Dream Riders, but also with the participants and attendees. Participants have journeyed from across the United States and internationally to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. It is with their passion that Dream Ride Australia is a lasting and growing event! Many guests and Dream Riders make the trip not knowing what the weekend will hold; however, it is fair to say that this is where dreams come true!
